Job Description SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Quality Control Work Lead, the Quality Control Inspector performs physical and visual inspection on finished goods and incoming raw materials used in the production of products according to official Inspection Procedures (IP), and BD test methods.

Responsibilities:
Perform on-line inspection of Packaging Department and perform final physical/visual inspection of all finished products.
Inspect, sample and perform physical/visual tests on package components and raw materials according to BD Standard Operating Procedures.
Schedule priorities: assign inspection activities and coordinate with other departments to prioritize inspections as appropriate.
Ensure calibrations and maintenance are performed on department equipment; determine new equipment requirements and needs.
Assist in the preparation and completion of MRRs/NC and follow-up to completion.
Support and assist in the development of lean thinking programs and participate in the implementation of these programs throughout the facility as required
Maintain supplier quality databases and log books-perform data entry and generate quality metric reports as required.
Maintain a good attendance and on-time record as outlined in the Attendance Guidelines for our facility
The ability to work overtime
Other duties as assigned
Education and/ or Experience Required:
High School Diploma/GED
3-5 years work experience in medical device industry
Duties require basic knowledge of math
Knowledge of inspection/sampling techniques and familiarity with ANSI/ASQZ1.4, ISO-9000 and ISO13485.
Duties require basic knowledge of mechanical and physical inspection techniques. (calipers, micrometers,
blueprint/artwork reading, etc.)
Understand and observe Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
Solid understanding of computers particularly with databases and spreadsheets.
