Job summary

FMI Composites is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector I to ensure materials meet rigorous quality and safety standards before reaching customers. You will monitor operations, inspect raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods, using gauges and tools to verify specifications.

Strong analytical skills and precision are essential for this role. The position requires 1+ year of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to obtain security

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification a plus.
• 1+ year quality/manufacturing experience preferred; composites a plus.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain security clearance.
• Strong safety, quality focus and attention to detail.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn equipment operation.
• Able to follow written, verbal, diagrams and schedules precisely.
• Basic math, measurement, computer and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical: stand/walk; lift up to 25–50 lbs; PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Follow work instructions, procedures, safety requirements, diagrams, and schedules.
• Inspect incoming raw goods and in-process items for compliance.
• Perform intermittent QC checks and verifications throughout production.
• Identify, flag, and segregate non-conforming items.
• Inspect materials with calipers, scales and gauges; record results.
• Maintain production records and safety/quality documentation.
• Move materials using hoists and pallet jacks safely.
• Collaborate with production to troubleshoot issues and improve yield.
• Work safely around moving equipment, fumes and noise.
• Cross-train and assist teammates in a team-focused environment.
