Job summary

Benoit is seeking a Quality Control Specialist I for a DAYS shift in Houma, LA. The role focuses on inspecting Benoit-manufactured products to ensure conformance and identifying nonconforming items. You will work under the Quality Manager/Director and ensure traceability and calibration of inspection equipment.

The position requires reading drawings, performing First Article Inspections, and maintaining proper documentation. Benefits include PTO, holidays, health benefits, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Management or related field, or High School Diploma or GED with 3–5 years manufacturing experience
• 1–3 years Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience
• Experience with audits (internal & external)
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in gauge set-up and calibration
• Prior experience in Quality engineering environment
• Proficiency in quality inspection tools and measurement equipment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Sufficient visual acuity to perform job duties safely and accurately
• Ability to work in office, warehouse, production, or outdoor environments as required
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the company's products conform to all applicable requirements.
• Interpret technical drawings and customer part requirements.
• Inspect and calibrate measuring system devices and drift mandrels within specified tolerances.
• Perform and document a First Article Inspection before full production begins.
• Record information on Daily Inspection Log sheets and sign‑off on Work Orders and Router forms.
• Apply employee identification numbers on products that passed inspection.
• Verify CNC operators’ identification numbers and maintain traceability.
• Ensure API Monogram usage only on compliant connections.
• Remove defective inspection equipment from service and verify calibration stickers.
• Assist operators with lathe and gauge set‑ups when possible.
• Coordinate with supervisors and shop personnel to inspect products as required.
