Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610) and GD&T.
  • Proficient with inspection tools and basic electronic testing; ISO 9001 familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.

Onsite | 9-12-Month Contract | Telecommunications Industry

Join a growing telecommunications company as a Quality Control Inspector! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the company’s electronic assemblies, hardware components, tactical communication products, and systems meet stringent quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This position involves detailed inspection, testing, and documentation throughout the manufacturing and assembly process to maintain the highest levels of reliability and performance for mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical components, printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), wire harnesses, and finished products.
  • Conduct visual, dimensional, and functional inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, and specialized electronic test equipment.
  • Verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610), and military/defense quality requirements.
  • Identify, document, and report defects, non-conformances, or deviations; initiate corrective actions and work with production and engineering teams to resolve issues.
  • Support process audits, supplier quality activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, quality logs, and traceability documentation in compliance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
  • Operate and maintain inspection equipment; ensure calibration and proper use.
  • Collaborate with Test Engineers, Manufacturing, and Supplier Quality teams to validate products in lab and simulated field environments.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues and contribute to preventive measures.
  • Adhere to all company safety, security, and quality policies, including handling of sensitive defense-related products.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification in electronics, quality assurance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in electronics manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or communications hardware (experience with RF/wireless products highly desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001), blueprint reading, and GD&T.
  • Proficient with inspection tools and basic electronic testing; familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency may be required due to the nature of our defense-related work (ITAR compliance).
  • Ability to lift moderate weights and stand for extended periods.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a defense or government contracting environment.
  • Certification as an IPC-A-610 or ASQ Certified Quality Inspector.
  • Familiarity with wireless communications hardware, tactical radios, or ruggedized electronics.
  • Basic understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality metrics.
