$20.00/hr - $32.00/hr

Purpose/Function/Summary (training Needs)

The quality control inspector should be a hands-on inspector in checking dimensions of various sizes of machined metal components. Includes working with other staff to determine inspection priorities/flow. Ideal candidate must have GDT knowledge base with ability to interpret blueprints.

Essential Functions

• Handle various product quality activities and examine production defects, semi-finished goods defects.
• Perform dimensional inspection on parts.
• First piece, last piece, and in-process inspection.
• Work with CMM, gauges, calipers, and other measuring equipment to ensure the parts meet specifications.
• Work with machine operators and engineering to make blue prints and machine adjustments as needed.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• Education/Training: High School or GED equivalent.
• Experience/Skills: 2-3 years' experience in both quality assurance and quality control activities. Experience using Hexagon arms, Keyence, Zeiss CMM highly preferred. Must be able to pass a micrometer and caliper test. Geometric dimensioning and tolerance (ASME Y14.5 - GD&T) skills required. Three years' experience working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to CNC or machined parts, fabricated welded and/or sheet metal parts.
• ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or Technician preferred.
