Job summary

Plansee USA LLC in Franklin, USA, seeks a diligent Quality Inspector to perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts, ensuring conformance to drawings and QA standards.

You will document results, verify calibration, read GD&T, and cooperate with manufacturing to maintain aerospace-grade quality and ITAR compliance. This hourly position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a bonus plan.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; technical school in manufacturing is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret machining and fabrication drawings.
• Proficiency with MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MRP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and advanced shop math.
• Ability to calculate trig formulas is a plus.
• Knowledge of Zeiss Calypso CMM software is a plus.
• Understanding of aerospace requirements (AS9100, AS9102, ASTM) preferable.
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card) per ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform first piece, in-process and finished machined part inspections including first article inspection for conformance to quality assurance standards.
• Accurately complete quality control documentation such as non-conforming material, travelers and control charts.
• Create and store electronic inspection reports using customer drawings and specifications.
• Follow verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, and sketches, in completing inspection tasks.
• Verify inspection equipment, machinery and tools are calibrated per company standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform first piece, in-process and finished machined part inspections including first article inspection for conformance to quality assurance standards.
• Accurately completes all quality control documentation such as non-conforming material, travelers and control charts.
• Create and store electronic inspection reports using customer drawings and specifications.
• Follows verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, and sketches, in completing a variety of inspection tasks.
• Verify that inspection equipment, machinery and tools used are calibrated per Company standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED. Technical school education in manufacturing technology and/or ASQ certified inspector a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret machining and fabrication drawings.
• Proficiency in the use of the MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MRP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and advanced shop math skills.
• Ability to calculate trigonometry formulas a plus.
• Knowledge of running and programming Zeiss Calypso CMM software a plus.
• Understanding of aerospace requirements (AS9100, AS9102, ASTM's) preferable.
• Meet the requirements under ITAR - U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
