Job summary

Plansee site in Franklin, USA, is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to inspect machined parts and create electronic quality reports. You will follow drawings, travelers, and process specs, ensure calibration of tools, and maintain strict QA documentation in a highly precise manufacturing environment.

The role requires GD&T proficiency, reading complex drawings, and familiarity with MRP systems; aerospace standards knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; technical schooling a plus.
  • Strong GD&T knowledge and ability to read/interp machining drawings.
  • Proficiency with MS Windows and MRP systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and math skills.
  • Experience with trigonometry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Zeiss Calypso CMM software a plus.
  • Understanding aerospace standards (AS9100, AS9102, ASTM) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform first piece, in-process and finished part inspections per QA standards.
  • Document non-conformances and maintain travelers and control charts.
  • Create electronic inspection reports from drawings and specs.
  • Follow blueprints, travelers and work instructions for inspection tasks.
  • Verify calibration of inspection equipment per company standards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform first piece, in-process and finished machined part inspections including first article inspection for conformance to quality assurance standards.
  • Accurately completes all quality control documentation such as non-conforming material, travelers and control charts.
  • Create and store electronic inspection reports using customer drawings and specifications.
  • Follows verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints, traveler, work instruction, process specifications, and sketches, in completing a variety of inspection tasks.
  • Verify that inspection equipment, machinery and tools used are calibrated per Company standards.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED. Technical school education in manufacturing technology and/or ASQ certified inspector a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret machining and fabrication drawings.
  • Proficiency in the use of the MS Windows (Word, Excel, Outlook) and MRP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced shop math skills.
  • Ability to calculate trigonometry formulas a plus.
  • Knowledge of running and programming Zeiss Calypso CMM software a plus.
  • Understanding of aerospace requirements (AS9100, AS9102, ASTM’s) preferable.
  • Meet the requirements under ITAR – U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
