PrideStaff is seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector for an auto machine shop in Mooresville, NC. The ideal candidate will have experience withmeasuring and testingvalvesand usingrefractometersin atransmission manufacturingenvironment. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all transmission components meet industry and company quality standards by conducting inspections, tests, and measurements.

Pay Rate:$25/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and functional testing ontransmission components, with a focus onvalvesand hydraulic systems.
- Useprecision measuring tools(e.g., calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and gauges) to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Conductfluid analysisusingrefractometersto ensure proper viscosity, contamination levels, and performance of transmission fluids.
- Document inspection results, record data, and generate reports on quality findings.
- Identifydefects, wear, or non-conformancein transmission parts and communicate findings to production teams.
- Assist inroot cause analysisand work with engineers and technicians to implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance withISO 9001and other quality management standards.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized inspection area.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in quality control or mechanical inspection preferred.
- Minimum of2+ years of experienceinquality control within a transmission manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Strong experience withvalve testing, hydraulic components, and fluid measurement using refractometers.
- Ability to read and interprettechnical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficiency in usingprecision measuring instruments(e.g., calipers, micrometers, bore gauges).
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience withtransmission assembly and testing.
- Knowledge ofautomotive or heavy-duty transmission systems.
- Familiarity withnon-destructive testing (NDT) methods.
