A Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that engineering projects meet design specifications, codes, and industry standards. Key requirements include:
Education & Experience: Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., ACI, AWS, or NICET) are often preferred. Prior experience in construction or engineering inspection is typically required.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, construction materials, and testing procedures. Familiarity with relevant codes (e.g., ASTM, AASHTO, or local building codes).
Attention to Detail: Ability to identify non-conformances and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Communication Skills: Effective reporting and documentation skills; ability to coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients.
Field Work: Willingness to work on construction sites, sometimes in varying weather conditions, and perform material testing or visual inspections.
