Job summary

Dover Precision Components in Houston, TX, is seeking a Quality Control Engineer to support inspection, measurement, and continuous improvement for fluid-film bearings and seals used in critical rotating equipment.

You will review drawings, execute inspection plans, analyze data, and lead nonconformance investigations to reduce defects and ensure product quality across the repair, manufacture, and upgrade processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, industrial technology, or related field.
• Two or more years of quality-control, inspection, or manufacturing-quality experience in a precision environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and technical requirements.
• Extensive experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience using precision dimensional inspection equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic quality or manufacturing systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspection of products for customer orders and returns.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections of bearings, seals, and machined parts.
• Develop or maintain inspection plans for receiving, in-process, final, and post-repair activities.
• Verify inspection results are complete, traceable, and acceptable before release.
• Support root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate material, coating, babbitt-bond, or non-destructive testing records as applicable.
• Assist with ISO audits and quality-management system requirements.
• Train production staff on quality requirements and inspection methods.
