Job summary

MilliporeSigma in Bellefonte, PA is seeking a Quality Control Chemist to perform chromatography-based quality checks, data analysis, and documentation. You will support method development, ensure conformance to specifications, and collaborate with manufacturing and R&D to resolve issues.

The role emphasizes accuracy, record-keeping, and SOP writing, with opportunities to train fellow chemists and contribute to continuous improvements in QC processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or another scientific discipline.
• 1+ years of work experience in a laboratory.
• Experience in gas and liquid chromatography.
• Basic knowledge of statistics and statistical variations.
• Ability to work well with others both within and outside of the QC area.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review test results for conformance to specifications.
• Perform gas and/or liquid chromatography operations to evaluate stock and/or custom products.
• Test all product groups.
• Prepare standards and solutions for product evaluation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D to resolve nonconformances.
• Execute experiments, analyze results, and report findings.
• Maintain and generate records of systems, procedures, and test results.
• Enter and evaluate QC data using PC and lab automation systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of chromatographic instrumentation.
• Assist in training other QC chemists.
