Job summary

igus Bearings, Inc. in Rumford, RI seeks a Quality Manager to lead the Quality Management System, drive process improvements, and partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure product quality and customer satisfaction.

The role focuses on ISO 9001 compliance, CAPA, audits, and mentoring Quality Engineers and Technicians. A strong background in manufacturing quality and Six Sigma is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of leadership or managerial experience.
• Experience working within ISO 9001-certified organizations.
• ASQ CMQ/OE, CQE, or similar certification.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience with plastics manufacturing, injection molding, automation components, or industrial products.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
• Develop, implement, and improve quality policies, procedures, work instructions, and control plans.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, internal specifications, and regulatory standards.
• Manage internal and external audits, including customer and certification audits.
• Monitor quality performance metrics and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Facilitate corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality concerns and complaints.
• Support supplier qualification, audits, and performance evaluations.
• Monitor incoming material quality and supplier defect trends.
• Partner with production teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Establish departmental goals aligned with company objectives and lead, mentor, and develop Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Quality Technicians.
• Provide quality-related training across the organization.
• Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
