Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Quality Control professional to ensure HVAC materials and installations meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves conducting site and fabrication inspections, documenting results, and guiding teams on testing procedures and non-compliance resolutions.

You will collaborate with superintendents to manage licenses, review equipment specs, and ensure QA/QC plans are followed from project kickoff through completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent mandatory.
• At least 5 years of progressive quality control experience.
• Knowledge of construction methods, equipment, processes.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety policies.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality standards for installation of materials and products for Mechanical HVAC systems to ensure conformance with drawings and code.
• Conduct site and fabrication inspections to verify testing and reporting per regulations.
• Document inspection results and communicate findings; propose solutions for non-compliance.
• Maintain procedural documents and provide training as needed.
• Collaborate with superintendents to maintain licenses and renewal dates.
• Review equipment specifications and secure necessary permits; inform management of issues.
• Review QA/QC requirements and help define roles and responsibilities before project starts.
