St. John’s Community Services is seeking a Part-Time Quality and Compliance Associate for NY to oversee QA, compliance, and risk management across NY programs. The role involves reviewing Therap entries, supporting billing accuracy, and providing staff training to improve documentation and regulatory readiness.

Hybrid schedule with travel to program sites as needed; base office in Ithaca, NY. Prior QA experience with OASAS/OMH funded services is valued.

As the Quality and Compliance Associate - NY you will support the operation of SJCS-NY programs through quality assurance activities that ensure compliance with SJCS and funder operational standards, activities that support compliance with billing standards, and support the safe and effective operation of services across all lines.Your overall essential responsibilities will be the following:Quality Assurance:Be the primary staff person for quality, compliance and risk management efforts for the SJCS state that is assigned. Work collaboratively with other Quality and Compliance Associates and Director of Quality and Compliance on agency-wide and multi-state initiatives.Conduct review of a sample of Therap input, with an emphasis on data, daily notes and other documentation to support billing assuring that documentation meets regulatory requirements.Provide feedback to program leadership and program staff entering data and information into Therap, uploading documents, etc. Provide training, mentoring, and other guidance to affect improvement with documentation as needed.Become well versed in the assigned state’s regulatory and funding requirements, including licensing standards, as well as those of Federal, State, and Local oversight agencies.Coordinate and work with state staff to prepare for government licensure, quality and compliance reviews, and fiscal audits, and for accreditation surveys. This should include conducting preparatory internal audits using government and accreditation agency protocol to determine standards for which performance requires remediation before the actual government review.In conjunction with state staff, develop Corrective Action and Quality Improvement Plans in response to audit, survey, and review findings. Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of these plans, and facilitate refinements as needed.Become a certified investigator for the assigned state. Conduct investigations as requested by state leadership and/or required by state agency regulations and guidelines. Develop, sound detailed reports of each investigation. On a quarterly basis assess all investigations to determine if any systemic issues exist.Collaborate with HR staff in conducting compliance monitoring reviews of personnel records.Utilize data and information generated from all activities to develop and guide the implementation of quality improvement plans and actions.Tracks trainings completed by staff and informs program leadership of missing or expiring trainings/certifications.Develops the skills and competencies required to be the Therap lead in the associated state.Provides training on Therap to new staff as well as topical refreshers as indicated by audit findings.This list of responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this position is not in its entirety as other duties may be assigned and are expected to be followed.You will catch our eye if you have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:Experience in a Quality Assurance roleExperience with OASAS and/or OMH funded servicesFamiliarity with EMR’s, Data Entry, and Billing NotesExtra credit will be given if you have the following experience, education, and requirements:What extra will make them stand out i.e. bachelor’s in human resources management, business management, or other related degree (preferred).A Qualified Health Professional as defined by OASAS regulationAll SJCS employees must:Obtain a valid health certificate to meet SJCS or current funding authority requirements as required.Meet SJCS and the funding authority requirement of criminal background and record checks.Physical and environmental conditions include:The hiring range for this position ranges from $32 to $35 per hour and is dependent on location and experience.
