Job description

As the Quality Chemist, you will maintain the Silica Area Quality Systems. Your responsibilities include:

• Daily quality status review and reporting
• Serving as the quality contact for operational quality-related issues
• Owning and maintaining the electronic lab database
• Ensuring accuracy and precision of lab instrumentation and production quality control equipment

You will work onsite in Barberton, OH, reporting to the Area Manager. PPG offers excellent benefits including Medical, Dental, & Vision; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:

• Order lab consumables
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards
• Administer and retain the sample system
• Manage the quality document control system
• Maintain quality and production standardization
• Ensure the completeness of testing programs
• Monitor the quality of raw materials
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting of quality control equipment
• Assist in identifying and resolving quality problems

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required
• At least 2 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of basic quality principles
• SAP experience preferred
