This role supports manufacturing operations in the Plating Lab to ensure production needs are met. It may also involve assisting the technology department with tests for developing new processes, procedures, tooling, or products.

As a Production Chemist, you will:

  • Comply with all HSE, Quality, and Radiation Safety procedures and policies.
  • Create solutions, maintain equipment, clean/process/test parts, follow technical procedures/drawings, and perform manufacturing processes in the Plating Lab.
  • Work with the production planner and manager to understand priorities and meet production demands with minimal supervision.
  • Perform Radiation and HSE activities such as Gamma Surveys, Air Monitoring, Tennelec maintenance, security inventory checks, eye wash and safety shower tests, spill kit inspections, exhaust hood washes, and chemical management.
  • Serve as a manufacturing expert in this process area, maintain inventory of solutions/parts/supplies, and support quality activities like record keeping and documentation review.

Fuel your passion

To be successful, you should have:

  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • The ability to troubleshoot during processing.
  • Desire and ability to learn and apply hands-on chemistry in a production setting, preferably with electroplating experience.
  • Experience with wet chemistry practices and working in a controlled lab environment.
  • Comfort handling raw materials.
  • Ability to work in a production lab, mixing and measuring solutions with pipettes, flasks, beakers, etc.
  • Drive to accomplish work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Understanding of manufacturing techniques and ability to assess deviations.

You will be required to handle the following chemicals:

  • Uranyl Nitrate
  • Hydrofluoric Acid
  • Hydrochloric Acid
  • Perchloric Acid
  • Boric Acid
  • Sodium Hydroxide
