Job summary

Toledo Tool & Die is seeking a Quality Auditor for our 2nd shift in Toledo, Ohio. This full-time role focuses on first/last piece audits to verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauge blocks, and dial indicators.

Starting pay is $19.00 per hour with a $1.50 shift premium on the 2nd shift. We offer weekly pay, 10 paid holidays, and full benefits in a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States.
• 6 months manufacturing experience preferred, especially in quality.
• Experience with quality systems such as IATF 16949 preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret gauges and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to work 2nd shift with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform First/Last Piece audits to verify dimensions using calibrated tools.
• Accept or reject finished items based on conformance to specs.
• Inspect metal stampings and related parts on the line.
• Enter audit data into software systems as required.
• Maintain organized check fixture areas and support production uptime.
• Interpret drawings and coordinate with management on quality standards.
• Stop production if unsafe conditions or poor quality are observed.

Key Responsibilites

• Perform First/Last Piece audits to verify dimensions of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, taper and pin gauges and dial indicators.
• Authority to accept or reject finished items.
• Inspect, test or measure metal stampings being produced. Weld destruct if in the Weld Department.
• Input and/or report data generated from audits and other sources as needed into various software programs.
• Organize and maintain check fixture area.
• Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams or confers with other TTD Management to determine quality & reliability standards.
• Red Tag containers that have nonconforming parts and establish clean point in production between good and suspect product.
• Perform the essential job functions of Press Operator when significant downtime is present.
• Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or TTD Management representatives.
• Authority to stop production if unsafe conditions or poor quality exist.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment screening (background check and drug screen).
• Six (6) months previous manufacturing experience, preferably in the quality function that displays progressive work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in a fast-paced, high volume manufacturing environment is required. Preferably with a metal stampings background in an OEM or Tier I/II supplier in the automotive environment.
• Knowledge and application of Quality Systems, such as IATF 16949 is preferred.
• Proficiency in various Microsoft Programs, such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret information from gauges, gauge blocks, micrometers, taper and pin gauges and dial indicators.
• Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
• Report to work on time to support production startup.
• Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull objects that are up to 50 pounds.
• Work as a team, good communication skills, basic math skills, physical dexterity.
