Job summary

National Beef Leathers of St. Joseph, Missouri, is seeking a Night Shift Quality Assurance Auditor to monitor product quality through production, collect samples, and document results. The role emphasizes PPE compliance and joining a team that values safety and accuracy.

The candidate should have HS diploma or equivalent, 2–5 years in manufacturing/QA, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. This on-site, full-time position supports cross-training and quality record maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required (HS diploma or equivalent).
• Two to five years of manufacturing experience in a tannery or QA position preferred.
• Manual dexterity for operating machinery and computers.
• Availability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Understand quality aspects and safety requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Self-motivated, confidentiality and reliability.
• Basic computer skills for records.
• Able to lift hides up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Input quality attributes and monitor product quality throughout the production process.
• Communicate quality concerns, trends, and issues with Production personnel and leadership.
• Collect, evaluate, and document daily samples.
• Promote a safe work environment, including PPE compliance.
• Provide departmental coverage as needed.
• Cross-train and become proficient in QA functions.
• Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
• Knowledge of Hide Brand Sortation.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Quality Assurance Auditor responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Input quality attributes and monitor product quality throughout the production process
• Communicate quality concerns, trends, and issues with Production personnel and leadership
• Collect, evaluate, and document daily samples
• Promote and support a safe work environment, including compliance with all PPE requirements
• Provide departmental coverage as needed
• Participate in cross-training and become proficient in all Quality Assurance functions
• Maintain accurate quality records and documentation
• Knowledgeable in Hide Brand Sortation
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.

Qualifications

Qualified Candidates for the Night Shift Quality Auditor position should have the following skills

• Must be able to read and write in English
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. This is normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing experience in a tannery or a previous Quality Assurance position
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers
• Availability to work all shifts, flexible hours, flexible days/evenings to include weekends and holidays
