Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Athens, GA is seeking a Quality Auditor to perform inspections and ensure compliance with quality standards across pre-delivery and gate inspections.

You'll work with tools and equipment, lift up to 35 lbs, and use SAP and MS Office for data capture and reporting. Overtime on short notice is required; 1st shift hours are 7:00 AM to 3:10 PM, with a starting wage of $20.55 per hour.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience is required.
• Overtime on short notice to support business needs.

• Experience with inspection and product auditing processes.
• Familiarity with measurement equipment and gauges.
• Heavy equipment assembly experience with tractors or excavators.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspection based on the check-list of inspection points.
• Complete inspections using a checklist and tooling provided.
• Perform overall quality inspection at quality gates or pre-delivery inspection.
• Use lifting devices to move heavy components up to 35 lbs.
• Inspect products to ensure they meet specifications.
• Document quality issues into a computer system and flag defects.

As a Quality Auditor at Caterpillar, you will:

• Perform quality inspection based on the check- list of inspection points/procedures
• Complete inspections using a checklist and tooling provided (static tools, dry leak testing, Cab electrical tests, templates, etc.)
• Perform overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection.
• Use lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35lbs
• Inspect products to ensure it meets the specifications
• Gather data from various tools and tooling systems and document quality issues into a computer system and flag defects for repair

Basic Qualifications:

• Manufacturing experience

Role requires overtime on a short notice to support business needs.

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Willing and able to stand for prolonged periods
• Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
• Willing and able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Willing and able to pass eye exam for visual weld inspection

Top candidates will also have:

• Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Intermediate proficiency in SAP software
• Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with inspection and product auditing processes
• Intermediate proficiency with measurement equipment and gages
• Heavy equipment machine assembly experience with tractors or excavators

Summary Pay Range:

$20.55 - $25.65
