Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, ME is seeking a Quality Inspector to join the Operations team. The role involves performing inspections, ensuring products meet specifications, and supporting quality gates during pre-delivery checks.

You should have at least 6 months of prior work experience, plus proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint; strong communication, problem solving and teamwork are essential. The position offers Day ONE benefits and a quarterly bonus, with a 2nd shift and hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspection based on the check- list of inspection points/procedures
• Complete inspections using a checklist and tooling provided (static tools, dry leak testing, Cab electrical tests, templates, etc.)
• Performs overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection
• Inspects products to ensure it meets the specifications
• Gather data from various tools and tooling systems and document quality issues into a computer system and flag defects for repair
• Cross-functional communication to complete tasks

• $20.20 Per Hour

Job duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Perform quality inspection based on the check- list of inspection points/procedures

• Performs overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection

• Inspects products to ensure it meets the specifications

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods

• Ability to perform repetitive operations

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

Basic Qualifications:

• 6 months of prior work experience

Top Candidates will also have:

• Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Machine equipment product knowledge

• Experience in Product Auditing Processes

• Strong quality and attendance record

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

Summary Pay Range:

$20.20 - $25.25
