Job summary

Johnson Outdoors in Alabama is seeking a Quality Auditor to inspect, audit and report on manufacturing processes to ensure products meet design, manufacturing and quality standards.

You will perform first article inspections, monitor production quality data, maintain records, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and services teams to drive improvements and prevent defects.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing or quality environment.
  • Demonstrated above average math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work effectively when issues arise throughout the day.
  • Ability to own elements of production quality data and summarize data for review.
  • Ability to independently perform product and production audits, identify quality issues, and maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrated understanding of product physical and electrical visual standards to assist production.
  • Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with engineering, manufacturing and services teams.
  • Proficient computer skills for analysis and data reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform First Article inspections and processing for select components and assemblies as required to support quality, manufacturing, or engineering functions. Ensure First Articles, incoming material, manufacturing processes and outgoing material meet their documented standards and reports results.
  • Support the control and segregation of non-conforming materials. Perform documentation of non-conforming components or assemblies.
  • Perform routine monitoring of the production process through process audits.
  • Maintain and update quality records and documentation in accordance with established procedures and manufacturing practices.
  • Prepare critical limit samples for cosmetic or functional use to ensure quality of appearance of products.
  • Perform internal product audits to identify issues on fully assembled and sub-assembled products.
  • Promote company safety policies, workmanship standards and operational procedures among team members while displaying strong quality consciousness at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Located at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on the shores of beautiful Lake Eufaula, Alabama, the Quality Auditor is responsible for performing inspection, quality control, auditing and/or reporting activities before, during, and after the manufacturing processes, to ensure that products comply with design, manufacturing, and quality standards.
