Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in the United States is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to inspect printed materials and cartons at various production stages to ensure customer requirements and internal quality standards are met. You will support production efficiency and ensure GMP/SOP compliance across processes.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work overtime during peak periods. Relevant GMP knowledge and accurate record-keeping are essential to success.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of GMP and SOPs is required.
• Ability to distinguish between acceptable and non-conforming material.
• Reliable attendance and strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak production.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process inspections using statistical sampling plans.
• Visually inspect printed materials for defects in printing, die-cutting, and gluing.
• Record and maintain accurate inspection and production records.
• Conduct testing methods such as scanner challenges and scale count verification.
• Inspect finished pallets prior to shipping and decide acceptability or Quality Hold.
• Ensure materials on Quality Hold are properly documented and moved to designated areas.
• Communicate with production teams to address quality issues during runs.
• Review job specifications and standards prior to production startup.
• Perform and document line clearance before each job.
• Establish and verify case counts for new jobs and monitor consistency.
• Perform additional duties to support quality and production operations.
