Job summary

Georgia Nut Company is seeking a QA Specialist Level II (2nd Shift) in Skokie, IL. The role focuses on monitoring product quality and employee practices on the manufacturing floor, performing QA in-process inspections, and supporting lab testing.

You will report to the QA Supervisor and help with raw material receipt and documentation. The ideal candidate has a college degree in foods, biology, or chemistry and strong attention to detail with good communication and math skills.

Qualifications

• College degree in foods, biology, chemistry, etc. highly preferred.
• Experience in the foods/manufacturing industry preferred.
• Basic written and mathematics skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Good communication skills (written and oral).

Responsibilities

• Report food safety and quality issues to authorized personnel.
• Perform QA in-process inspections for each department/line per shift (paperwork, retain sample, code date/lot, weight, metal detection, labels, cleanliness, GMP).
• Perform daily scale checks and deal with holds and releases according to policy.
• Maintain QA supplies inventory and QA documents; prepare samples for production.
• Conduct internal audits, magnet pull tests and metal detection tests; ensure GMP compliance.
