Job summary

The Olds Products Co Of Illinois is seeking a QA Technician in Pleasant Prairie, WI to ensure quality of ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products in line with specifications.

You will follow GMP, GLP, and GDP protocols, calibrate lab equipment, collect samples, perform qualitative and quantitative testing, and document results. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential. The role reports to the QA Manager and requires English proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Must read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), GLPs (Good Laboratory Practices) and GDPs (Good Documentation Practices) and related SOPs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong computer literacy and data reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all food safety and quality parameters are adhered to throughout the facility.
  • Calibrate lab equipment for accurate results.
  • Collect and analyze in-process and finished product samples.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing to ensure product specifications.
  • Perform aseptic sampling for microbiological testing and document results.
  • Identify and isolate products not meeting standards and assist in root-cause analysis.

The QA Technician is responsible for quality and verification of ingredients, packaging materials, and finished products in accordance to specifications. The QA technician will follow plant food safety, quality, and laboratory requirements. The QA Technician reports to the QA Manager. In the absence of the Quality Assurance Technician, the QA Manager or designate will assume the job duties.

Job Duties
  • Ensure all parameters of food safety and quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the facility
  • Calibrate lab equipment for accurate results
  • Collect and analyze in-process and finished product samples
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing to ensure product meets specifications
  • Perform aseptic sampling for microbiological testing
  • Follow protocols for documenting testing results
  • Recognize deficiencies and initiate proper follow-up
  • Identify and isolate product that does not meet standards
  • Aid in troubleshooting deficiencies and non-conformances
  • Complete food safety and quality records
  • Perform CCP monitoring
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by management
QualificationsWork Experience
  • Required: 1-3 years - Experience in food processing
  • *experience may include a combination of work experience and education
  • Preferred: 3-5 years - Experience in food processing and quality assurance

Requirements
  • Must read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Must follow GMP Policy - wear company issued uniform and hairnet in production areas.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work under pressure in a very fast paced environment.
  • Able to communicate and work well with people on all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to receive, analyze, and report information accurately and efficiently
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) – Ability to follow Laboratory SOP’s
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) – Ability to maintain proper records
  • Strong computer literacy – MS applications, databases
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills - ability to analyze large amounts of data and determine deficiencies.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
