Qualifications

  • CQT certification is a plus.
  • Must possess blueprint reading skills including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.

Tramec Sloan of Galion, Ohio is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician.

The Quality Assurance Technician will uphold the policies our company has created and oversee the product development process to ensure that all products meet quality standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tests on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are being met and company quality standards are followed. Previous experience with quality inspection in the manufacturing industry required.


Summary of Essential Job Functions:
Perform inspection activities such as -

  • Receiving, 1st pc., in-process, rover, final, dock audits, containment/sorting…
  • First piece inspections for newly set-up processes and re-evaluation of first articles at 30-day intervals.
  • Stage gauges for set-up operators as needed.
  • Obtain and disperse production documentation at the time of set-up when necessary.
  • Document inspection results on a computer.
  • Provide accept/reject disposition for operators on 3rd shift.
  • Liaison between 3rd shift and 1st shift, relaying information regarding product quality.
  • Complete NCM activity and forms.
  • Measures sample parts and perform dimensional layouts, including capability studies, for PPAP’s
  • Coordinates and performs QA Lab activity (e.g., MSA, calibrations, Gauge R&R studies)
  • Programing and operation of technical measurement equipment (e.g., CMM, Oasis, etc.)
  • Assists in the investigation and documentation for Corrective Actions/Continuous Improvement activities
  • Assists in the development of QA Documents (e.g., Control Plans, Inspection plans)
  • Aids Document Control by ensuring availability of current document revisions
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area using the 5S process and follows all safety policies and procedures
  • May be required to perform other reasonable work-related tasks
  • May be required to work different shifts, hours, overtime, and weekends if needed.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Associates degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance.
  • CQT certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of sample plans.
  • Must possess blueprint reading skills including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
  • Attentive to detail, accurate, with strong technical skills
  • Proficient in English, both verbal and written communications
  • Additional language fluency is a plus.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines is required
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required, both written and verbal.

Computer Skills

  • Good skills with Microsoft Word, Excel preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with the heavy-duty trucking industry concepts, practices, and procedures is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with clients, co-workers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independent of supervision and make a wide variety of complex decisions.
  • Candidate must be a fast learner with a high attention to detail.
  • May be required to work different shifts, hours, overtime, and weekends if needed
