Job summary

Dawn Foods Denver Manufacturing Plant in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician I for the afternoon shift (2:00 pm – 10:30 pm) to perform daily quality activities including GMP audits, in-process and lab testing, and ensure ingredients and finished goods meet specifications.

You will identify quality issues, report them, and initiate corrective actions, work with others, read safety documents, and operate basic lab equipment such as viscometers and water activity meters in a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience in supporting plants or quality programs.
• Science or related background or lab experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Ability to problem solve in variable situations.
• Able to work well with others and independently.
• Knowledge of basic lab equipment (water activity, viscometers).
• Basic math, record keeping and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, inspects and tests products in process or lab to ensure specifications.
• Checks calibration of measuring equipment and metal detectors; reports problems.
• Performs formula and process audits and documents results.
• Ensures adherence to GMP and Food Safety Plan; reports issues.
• Performs environmental swabbing as scheduled.
• Assists in investigations of out-of-compliance products.
• Contributes to a safe, inclusive work environment with diverse team members.
• Tolerates allergens in shipments/ingredients as required by business needs.
