Responsibilities Include

• Assist in disposition and release processes as needed.
• Review paperwork and maintain files.
• Coordinate with outside labs and schedule testing needs.
• Manage completion of monthly audits for Glass and Brittle Plastics.
• Assist in conducting monthly internal audits.
• Participate in monthly SQF meetings.
• Grade and document all employee training in the training register.
• Review and log all external calibrations in the SQF file.
• Assist in writing and updating lab procedures as directed.
• Identify areas for improvement and develop process changes.
• Collaborate with R&D on dispositions and rework formulas.
• Lead the quality team in task completion.
• Complete material reviews for dietary supplements.
• Act as liaison between quality and production regarding issues or changes.
• Support lab activities during busy periods or employee absences.
• Assist in SOP and WI audits.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Back up the QA Manager when needed.
• Review and sign off on lab MCS weekly.
• Participate in HACCP and food safety teams.
• Develop and maintain ISO 17025 accreditation for the pathogen lab.
• Support microbiological laboratory activities and adhere to responsibilities as a microbiologist.
• Work with Biomerieux on method validation and new processes.
• Assist raw material analysts with supplier complaints.
• Manage annual protein testing.
• Manage and troubleshoot lab equipment.
• Order supplies.
• Adhere to the Lab Code of Ethics and quality policies.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
