Job summary

Aptiv Interconnect is seeking a QMS Supervisor to lead quality inspection teams and ensure Company Products meet customer specifications in a fast, high‑mix manufacturing environment. You will mentor inspectors, coordinate with the Quality Manager, and drive continuous improvement through audits, MRB dispositions, NCRs, ECOs, and metric tracking (FPY, COPQ, scrap).

Summary

At Aptiv Interconnect, we inspire the world’s most innovative teams by doing the right thing, the right way. We are seeking a QMS Supervisor to be responsible for Company Products conforming to customer specifications in a fun, collaborative, and fast (high-mix/low-volume) manufacturing operation.

As our QMS Supervisor, you will be responsible for Company Products conforming to customer specifications. You’ll enjoy working in a fun, collaborative, and fast (high-mix/Iow—volume) manufacturing operation. Work closely with the Quality Manager. Possess leadership skills to direct and train all quality control inspectors and Test Inspectors/Assemblers to ensure maximum understanding and performance in all procedures. Will work with three VSMs to coordinate support, production problem-solving, and technical support.

Leadership & Core Responsibilities

• Supervise the Quality inspection and Test teams, and ensure the quality team's workmanship is up to company standards
• Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of Quality Leads, Inspectors and Test Technicians
• Manage inspector training, skill matrix maintenance, and certifications for IPC and NASA soldering/crimping standards
• Direct visual, dimensional, electrical, and mechanical inspection of complex cable assemblies, overmolded harnesses, and backshells
• Oversee non-destructive testing (NDT), continuity testing, hi-pot, insulation resistance (IR), and pull testing
• Review customer drawings, schematics, engineering change orders (ECOs), and manufacturing bill of materials (BOMs) for inspectability
• Act as the primary Quality lead on Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions, non-conformance reporting (NCR), and Corrective Action Requests (CAR/SCAR).
• Support internal and customer audits, as well as external certification audits (AS9100D, ISO 9001, Nadcap) as necessary
• Track and report key performance metrics including First Pass Yield (FPY), Scrap/Rework rates, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

Position Requirements

Education & Technical Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors in engineering preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the contract manufacturing industry.
• Industry Domain: Possess working knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, and equipment used in the inspection and testing of cable, harness, and electromechanical assemblies. Must have in-depth knowledge of highly technical engineering principles and processes. Must know how to apply Engineering knowledge and related codes and standards in analyzing and developing effective assembly systems, generating specifications, and delivering technical presentations to clients. Able to apply QA/QC theories to achieve actual quality goals.
• Regulatory Compliance: U.S. Citizenship.

Certifications & Competencies

• Certifications: IPC/WHMA-A-620 and/or J-STD-001 certification is strongly preferred. ASQ certification (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a significant advantage. Systems Proficiency: Google Workspace, ADP, Syspro, QMS, Smartviews, Salesforce, Planful, AwardCo.

Total Rewards & Compensation

• Base Salary Range: $90k-$120 +10% AIP per year, based on experience and qualifications.
