Job Duties:

The Quality Assurance Specialist supports the agency’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program by monitoring clinical and operational compliance, reviewing
patient records and assisting with performance improvement initiatives. Among other duties include:
Assist in the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the agency’s QAPI program.

  • Conduct routine and targeted audits of clinical documentation and operational processes.
  • Help monitor compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation (CoPs), state
    regulations, and accrediting standards.
  • Help track, and report quality indicators and performance metrics.
  • Review patient charts for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify documentation errors, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate findings to clinical staff and leadership and assist with corrective actions.
  • Assist with performance improvement projects and data collection.
  • Monitor outcomes such as OASIS accuracy, infection control indicators, hospital
    readmissions, and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in QAPI meetings and maintain required documentation.
  • Assist in preparing for state, CMS, and accreditation surveys.
  • Help organize documentation and evidence for surveys and audits.
  • Support the development and tracking of Plans of Correction (POCs)
  • Provide feedback and basic education to staff regarding documentation standards and
    quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, supervisors, and administrative staff to support quality
    initiatives.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Bachelor’s in general studies/healthcare; 1 year experience in the healthcare field.
