Job summary

State of West Virginia's WV Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg seeks a Quality Assurance Nurse (RN) to lead quality improvement efforts within the nursing department. You will develop and monitor plans to ensure clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include conducting audits, leading root cause analyses, supervising staff, and ensuring resident care and safety meet standards. Full-time with day and night shifts; travel not required.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited four-year college or university and two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a registered professional nurse.
• OR: Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university or a diploma nursing program with three years of experience as an RN.
• OR: Certification from a national nursing certifying organization plus two years of RN experience.
• OR: Associate degree with health sciences or behavioral sciences plus two years of RN experience.
• OR: Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited four-year college or university.

Responsibilities

• Direction and supervision of all resident care, including administering and documenting care, medication, and treatments per physician's order.
• Provide instruction and supervision of licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants.
• Report changes in residents' condition to the physician and take follow-up action as necessary.
• Follow facility admission procedures and communicate admissions to other departments.
• Ensure adequate staffing to meet resident needs.
• Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate emergency care.
