Job summary

Evolution Well Services is seeking a QA/QC Engineer to strengthen our quality management across field, shop, and manufacturing environments. You will work closely with field leadership, crews, and support staff to embed quality at the source and prevent issues from becoming failures.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, willingness to travel, and the ability to conduct audits, document findings, and deploy quality tools.

  • Lead pre-job startup reviews and field walkthroughs to identify risk.
  • Assist in recognizing high-performing crews and promote quality culture.
  • Perform other duties to assist operations and business continuity.

POSITION SUMMARY:

QA/QC Engineers serve as the boots-on-the-ground drivers of our Quality Management System (QMS) in the field, shop, and manufacturing environments. They work directly with field leadership, frontline crews, and support personnel to reinforce quality expectations, identify process deviations, and close the loop between daily operations and systemic improvement. This role is critical to embedding quality at the source — before issues become failures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Conducts field- and facility-based audits of quality-critical processes using company-issued checklists and standards.
  • Promotes and reinforces adherence to SOPs, Best Practices, and safety-critical work instructions.
  • Builds trust-based relationships with crews and leads to support coaching, quality awareness, and proactive issue reporting.
  • Initiates Quality tickets and non-conformance reports in the QMS system and ensures clear documentation of findings.
  • Supports deployment of field-facing quality tools such as Control Plans, and checklists.
  • Collaborates with Quality Systems Engineers to expedite and resolve systemic issues.
  • Facilitates pre-job startup reviews and field walkthroughs to identify risk prior to equipment deployment or job startup.
  • Assists in recognition of high-performing crews and supports the cultural rollout of quality expectations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Most employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including 3-year U.S. driving history and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
  • Daily predictable attendance in Midland, TX.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, or equivalent technical field required. An equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Preferred 2 years of operational or maintenance experience in oilfield services, manufacturing, or field support roles.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build trust with crews, supervisors, and support teams.
  • Familiarity with operational procedures, field service environments, or equipment staging practices.
  • Proficient use of digital tools such as KPA, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and mobile form platforms.
  • Ability to conduct structured audits and clearly document observations.
  • Self-motivated with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, travel frequently, and adapt to dynamic field conditions.
  • Committed to modeling and promoting quality, safety, and operational discipline.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ADVANCEMENT:

  • Demonstrated impact on field adherence and process accountability.
  • Proficiency in QMS application usage and field reporting.
  • Recognized by peers or managers for consistency, professionalism, and reliability.
  • Proven collaboration with Quality Systems Engineers and field leadership to close process gaps.
  • Participation in successful deployment of quality tools (e.g. Control Plans) across assigned location(s).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Frequently required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. A QA/QC Engineer works primarily indoors and will be sitting for prolonged periods at a desk, while typing on a computer, whether in home office, corporate office, client office, or EVO jobsite. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities. When required to go to a wellsite, the QA/QC Engineers work environment may include exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio up to 85 dB and inclement weather, including typical and atypical outdoor elements and extreme cold and hot weather temperatures. Given these conditions, if visiting a pad, the QA/QC Engineer may be required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) (fire retardant coveralls, safety hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection and impact gloves) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. QA/QC Engineers must be able to lift 25 lbs. independently.

Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
