Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to support MES functions and ensure materials, processes, and products meet specifications. The role includes interpreting drawings, recording data, applying SPC, and performing calibrations and audits to uphold quality standards.

The job emphasizes data-driven reporting, material inspection, and collaboration with customers and suppliers. A HS diploma or GED is required, with training on MEMS/QC practices preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with SPC and data analysis.
• Experience with gage calibration and Gage R&R studies.

Responsibilities

• Provide MES support through the resolution of Quality Escalates and operator assistance/instruction.
• Interpret engineering drawings.
• Record test/inspection data and audit results using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Review inspection documents for accuracy and maintain organized files.
• Apply statistical process control techniques.
• Evaluate data and create reports as required to be distributed to interested parties.
• Check incoming material as required.
• Review and maintain material test reports on incoming material for Material Traceability as required.
• Perform routine inspections for print dimensions (including CTQ) as required.
• Perform cleanliness testing per Customer requirements and analyze results using RAM Optical.
• Evaluation of key process indicators - Plate Fin/CuproBraze Fin Bond.
• Perform scheduled process audits and random product audits.
• Perform gage calibration and Gage R&R studies as required.
• Perform Return Unit Assessments when defective product is returned from the Customer.
• Perform paint inspections- visual, cross hatch testing, gloss readings, dry film thickness and pencil hardness as required.
• Measure and send samples to Laboratories for evaluation as needed.
• Submit Document Control Request and revise documents as needed.
