Florida Department of Transportation’s Tampa Operations Center seeks a Quality Assurance Manager to supervise development and oversee quality reviews for Operations Center construction and maintenance projects.

The successful candidate will coordinate between Construction and Maintenance units, ensure tasks meet contract documents, and lead QA activities across multiple projects. The role emphasizes leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computers at an intermediate level.
• Reviewing specifications and interpreting engineering materials.
• Applying problem solving techniques.
• Analyzing technical information and performing complex mathematical computations.
• Supervising others including coaching, performance reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Using and understanding supervisory principles and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees, directs workloads and training to safely perform tasks.
• Ensures required paperwork is accurate and timely, including schedules and performance evaluations.
• Conducts QA reviews on active projects and ensures maintenance standards meet department goals.
• Evaluates contractor performance and coordinates remediation with stakeholders.
• Attends design scoping and utility coordination meetings to address constructability and maintenance of traffic.
