Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) seeks a Quality Assurance Manager for the Tampa Operations Center. The role oversees QA reviews on construction and maintenance projects and leads a team to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency in the Florida transportation system.

Position is full-time, exempt, with a competitive SES pay plan and annual compensation ranging from $74,972.34 to $97,023.03, reflecting responsibilities and experience in a statewide agency. Applicants must be U.S.

Qualifications

• Knowledge Of: intermediate computer use, reviewing specs and interpreting engineering materials, applying problem solving techniques, analyzing technical data and math computations, supervising others including coaching and performance reviews, supervisory principles and techniques.
• Skills In: establishing relationships, reading/interpreting engineering standards, organizing and coordinating work, setting priorities and deadlines.
• Ability To: communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees, directs workloads, training, and performance evaluations and ensures safe task execution.
• Ensures required paperwork (schedules, timesheets, evaluations, training plans, reports) is accurate and timely.
• Conducts Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) on construction and maintenance projects and ensures alignment with goals and standards.
• Coordinates with Construction and Maintenance units, reviews contractor performance, and resolves design/utility issues.
