Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services seeks a Quality Assurance Manager for a direct hire in the food and beverage production industry. This hands‑on leadership role focuses on food safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across QA/QC functions.

You will oversee SQF, HACCP, USDA, FDA, Organic, Halal requirements, and lead a team including the SQF Practitioner and QC Technicians, driving improvement and audit readiness in a fast-paced facility.

• Ensure product labels, specifications, formulations, and nutritional documentation comply with regulations.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for a direct hire opportunity in the food and beverage production industry. The Quality Assurance Manager will lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions, oversee compliance with SQF, HACCP, USDA, FDA, Organic, and Halal requirements, and help ensure safe, high‑quality products. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain SQF, HACCP, food safety systems, quality standards, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Oversee GMPs, SSOPs, allergen controls, supplier approvals, customer complaints, sanitation standards, and employee training programs.
• Serve as the primary contact for USDA, FDA, and third‑party audits, ensuring ongoing audit readiness.
• Coordinate microbiological testing, review results, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure product labels, specifications, formulations, and nutritional documentation comply with regulatory requirements.
• Supervise, coach, train, and manage performance for the SQF Practitioner and Quality Control Technicians.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range: $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
• Job type: Direct hire.
• Location: 90161.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Lead Quality Assurance and Quality Control programs across a food manufacturing operation.
• Manage SQF, HACCP, USDA, FDA, Organic, Halal, GMP, SSOP, and food safety compliance initiatives.
• Drive audit readiness, corrective action programs, product quality improvements, and continuous process enhancements.
• Supervise quality team members, including the SQF Practitioner and Quality Control Technicians.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of Quality Assurance or Food Safety experience in food manufacturing.
• Experience working in a USDA‑inspected facility is required.
• HACCP Certified Practitioner certification is required.
• SQF Practitioner qualification and hands‑on SQF program management experience are required.
• Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, food safety regulations, audits, and corrective action programs.
• Experience with food labeling, product specifications, formulations, nutritional documentation, microbiological testing, and environmental compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, problem‑solving, and risk management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred.
• Experience supporting Organic and Halal compliance programs preferred.
• Prior experience leading quality teams in a fast‑paced food production environment preferred.
