Summary

The Quality Manager will ensure compliance with food safety standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement in product quality and operational efficiency.

Key Activities

• Manages and leads the Quality Assurance Team setting goals and priorities in conjunction with the VP of Plant Operations and Plant Manager.
• Researches, develops, implements all HACCP, GMP, SSOP and prerequisite programs required for the plant.
• Develops and implements procedures and checks to ensure quality and wholesomeness to all customers while following all local, state, and federal requirements as well as BRC requirements.
• Readies facility departments for all quality and food safety audits.
• Produces all plant label approvals.
• USDA liaison.
• Develops and updates program for potential recall of products.
• Water operator certifications required for plant testing.
• Help to support the enforcement of company policies and customer requirements.
• Help to facilitate and develop programs to enhance food safety and security.
• Computer skills required.
• Performs many monthly audits.

Preferred Skills

• In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety systems.
• Certification in Quality Management or Food Safety (e.g., SQF, BRC, ISO 22000) is a plus.

Educations & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality management role in the poultry or broader meat processing industry.
