Spherion Mid Ohio is partnering with a Wooster, OH electronics manufacturer to hire a Quality Assurance Leader for 1st shift. The role owns the Quality Management System, ensures ISO compliance, and supports AS9100 alignment.

The position is direct hire with a strong hands-on quality background, offering ownership of the quality function in a small-company environment and growth opportunities as ERP systems are implemented.

• Maintain quality documentation, calibration, ESD, and related programs.
• Help integrate Quality processes into a new ERP system.
• Lead and support one experienced Quality Assurance Specialist.
• Hold product when quality standards are not met.

Quality Assurance Leader (1 st Shift) | Wooster | Up to $65K | Direct Hire

The Professional Division of Spherion Mid Ohio is partnered with an established and growing electronics manufacturer in Wooster, Ohio, seeking a 1 st shift Quality Assurance Leader to take ownership of its Quality Management System and overall quality function. Salary of up to $65K annually, depending on experience.

This is a DIRECT HIRE opportunity. You will not go through a temp-to-hire process. If selected, you will become the company's employee from day one.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality professional who is ready for more ownership and wants to make a visible impact within a smaller organization. You do not need to already be a Quality Manager. Someone with strong hands-on Quality experience who is ready for the next step could be a great fit.

The organization is under 50 employees and has been in business for more than 50 years. This is a hands-on environment where Quality works closely with production, customers, and leadership rather than operating in a silo.

What You'll Do

• Own and continuously improve the company's Quality Management System
• Maintain ISO compliance and support the organization's newer AS9100 certification
• Prepare for and participate in customer, supplier, internal, and third-party audits
• Monitor quality performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Lead corrective and preventive action processes
• Manage non-conforming material and quality concerns
• Work directly with customers regarding quality questions, concerns, and corrective actions
• Partner closely with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues
• Perform hands-on inspections and support quality activities on the production floor
• Maintain quality documentation, calibration, ESD, and related programs
• Help integrate Quality processes into a new ERP system
• Lead and support one experienced Quality Assurance Specialist
• Have the authority and confidence to hold product when quality standards are not met

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on manufacturing Quality experience
• Working knowledge of ISO quality systems and compliance
• Experience with Quality Management Systems, audits, corrective action, and continuous improvement
• Confidence communicating with customers and working across departments
• Strong judgment and the ability to appropriately push back when product quality is at risk
• Curious, hands-on mindset with a genuine willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the Quality function

Highly Preferred, But Not Required

• Electronics manufacturing experience
• AS9100 experience
• IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and/or IPC-7711/7721 experience or certifications
• Previous Quality Lead, Quality Engineer, Quality Supervisor, or similar experience
• Prior formal leadership experience

Electronics experience is preferred, but candidates from other manufacturing environments are encouraged to apply. The company provides extensive technical training and has in-house IPC trainers. Required IPC certifications can be completed after hire.
