The QA Lab Technician supports plant operations by performing microbiological, physical, and chemical analyses on raw materials and food products at various stages of manufacturing, as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager. Provides assistance to the operations team and supports quality assurance functions such as auditing and inspection for glass, plastics, sanitation, pest control, and security. Accuracy, reliability, and efficiency are essential.

Role Responsibilities

• Performs chemical and physical analyses, including flavor checks, on samples according to procedures. Understands analysis concepts, anticipates results, and follows up on deviations.
• Records all analyses accurately, including data entry. Falsification of records results in disciplinary action.
• Communicates critical information clearly regarding tests and results. Handwriting must be legible.
• Prepares sampling materials and maintains laboratory equipment and cleanliness.
• Follows GMP and safety procedures in the laboratory and plant.
• Supports general plant QA duties such as sampling, environmental and water testing, allergen testing, and safety checks.
• Covers laboratory responsibilities during the QA Manager's absence and assists production as needed.
• Adheres to safety policies, GMPs, and food safety standards, including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for infant formula and nutritional foods.

Skills & Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of lab experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Experience with infant formula or food manufacturing is a plus.
• Proficiency in quality assurance functions, data entry, audits, CAPA, and records review.
• Self-disciplined, team-oriented, capable of handling emergencies.
• Physical ability to stand, crouch, climb, and perform manual tasks.
• Maintains personal cleanliness and follows GMP guidelines.
• Clear and organized written communication skills.
• Proficient with computers, MS Office, and other software.
