Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Quality Lab Supervisor and guidance from the Quality Lab Tech Lead, the Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for testing, inspection, dimensional analysis, and supporting other departments within HellermannTyton. The role involves conducting product/process inspections in both production and lab environments, managing files and software, and maintaining certifications such as TS16949, ISO14001, and EMS by adhering to corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation. Overtime, including weekends, may be required.

Essential Functions:

• Understand customer expectations related to product quality.
• Support a team-oriented environment.
• Mentor operators on product quality standards.
• Perform 1st piece and in-process inspections.
• Conduct product-specific tests, including tensile and moisture analysis.
• Verify raw materials and material certifications.
• Enter and manage SPC data.
• File QA records and samples.
• Verify colorant using incoming color samples.
• Handle non-conforming materials appropriately.
• Perform dimensional layouts referencing drawings.
• Utilize SPC software and record inspection data.
• Weigh parts and use control plans.
• Participate in PPAP and PPC testing.
• Support maintaining quality and environmental certifications.

Other Functions

• Become a resource for production regarding quality issues.
• Determine 'Clean Point' when nonconformances are identified.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Read blueprints and use basic measurement tools.
• Apply basic math skills and effective communication.
• Basic computer skills are a plus; knowledge of injection molding is advantageous.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: 1 year of lab experience.
• Strong math and communication skills.
• Good vision; knowledge of micrometers and calipers preferred.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs, including bending.
• Must wear PPE in manufacturing areas; PPE compliance is mandatory.
• Willingness to work daily and weekend overtime as needed.
