Quality Assurance (Holds) Technician
7:00 am -3:30 pm Monday-Friday

What we need:
- Under the supervision of the Quality Process and Materials Manager, the QA Technician (Holds) is responsible for monitoring, and maintaining the food safety of product and ensuring alignment with pre-determined customer specs, as well as local, federal, and global food safety regulation and requirements, and overseeing corrective actions when issues arise.
What you will do:
- Inspect and document all food safety and quality items that may require a hold, disposal, or further evaluation by QA Leadership.
- Managing retained samples at the processing and distribution centers
- Day-to-day check-ins at processing center and distribution (607 Heron Drive, 200 Progress Court)
- Report on raw materials, packaging and finished good disposal
- Document findings in formal report to departmental leads.
- Inspects and approves outgoing completed product aligned with proper inspection procedures, product specifications, transportation requirements, and food safety regulations, communicating with QA and Cross Functional Leadership as escalation may be required.
- Data Entry and Transaction in systems as they relate to inventory and finance.
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, including compliance with FDA, USDA, and company policies.
- The employee constantly works in plant and production areas and required to communicate with supervisors and operation employees, in a professional and effective manner
What you need:
- In depth knowledge and application of quality control and food safety techniques and tools and quality management principles in a food manufacturing environment
- Understanding of FDA/USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, food allergens, sanitation, and pest control.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a disposition to achieve results.
- Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality (success rates), and cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield).
- Ability to coordinate across multiple departments
- May need to write technically sound reports and defend them with factual information
- Requires effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, and/or facts and recommendations effectively.
- Ability to apply fundamental problem-solving concepts to project work and identify issues to provide root cause analysis and issue resolution
- Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience reading, understanding, and executing SOP’s.
- High school diploma: Associate degree or bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or microbiology preferred
- Experience with HACCP, USDA, and FDA standards.
- Knowledge of quality assurance measuring, and testing equipment preferred.
- Understanding of SSOP and sanitation verification preferred.
- Working knowledge of quality systems preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred, however onsite training is available.
