What We Need:
- We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to support efforts to maintain the highest quality of standards for all of our products. The QA Technician will be responsible for performing required tests and documenting the results, taking corrective actions where necessary.
What You Will Do:
- Keep track of lab/line inventory for necessary supplies.
- Keep lab equipment in good repair.
- Keep the lab clean, neat, and organized.
- Turn on and calibrate all lab equipment every day according to manufacturer’s procedure and document start-up.
- Check all scales and thermometers every day for proper calibration.
- Perform required tests on every batch from processing according to the product specification to verify product falls within required parameters and record results.
- Notify Processing Manager & Quality Assurance Manager of any product that does not meet specifications.
- Perform required tests on every retained 24-hour sample and document results.
- Check next day’s production schedule for accuracy, making necessary copies, and gathering comparison samples as needed.
- Perform required tests on ingredient samples as needed to verify ingredients fall within outlined parameters.
- Conduct line checks and QA checks on the Production floor. Verify correct packaging attributes and assure product is within specification. Report any non-conformances to QA Lead and/or QA Manager.
- Turn off all lab equipment and store according to manufacturer’s instructions after all batches are checked.
What You Need:
- High school diploma: associate degree or bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or microbiology preferred.
- Experience with HACCP, USDA, and FDA standards.
- Knowledge of quality assurance measuring, and testing equipment preferred.
- Understanding of SSOP and sanitation verification preferred.
- Working knowledge of quality systems preferred.
