What We Need:
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for supporting day-to-day responsibilities of the Quality Department to ensure Chelten House’s production operations and laboratory procedures meet the quality, food safety, and efficiency standards set by the company.
What You Will Do:
- Maintain the continued integrity of the food safety and food quality system.
- Support start-up, cover lab testing as needed, including 24-hour testing and microbiology testing.
- Support Quality Assurance technicians and delegate tasks, backfilling for support as needed.
- Support food safety related tasks.
- Ensure paperwork for Quality and Production is prepared for each day and audited, with issues being escalated as needed.
- Communicate and escalate issues with raw materials and finished goods as required, including holds or disposals.
- Review finished good sensory & analytical 24-hour, batch adjustment log inputs, escalating as required.
- Support tanker paperwork review, sampling/testing, offloading.
- Support tracking inventory and ordering QA supplies.
- Cross-communicate with several departments to ensure smooth flow of day-to-day tasks.
- Address any issues found where food safety or quality assurance is out of compliance with corrective actions implemented in real time where possible, or a product hold, with involvement and escalation to the Quality Assurance Lead, Quality Assurance Manager, and Production Leadership.
What You Need:
- High School Diploma with at least two years of experience working in food manufacturing with Quality.
- Able to interact with cross-functional teams to ensure food safety and quality.
- Provide leadership to other team members within the Quality Assurance Department.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, maintain deadlines, and demonstrate urgency when handling time-sensitive information.
- Interpersonal and team skills with the ability to professionally interact with all levels of personnel required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Knowledge of HACCP, USDA, FDA, FSMA, and SQF preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
