Job summary

American Technical Services Inc is seeking a qualified weldment inspector for our Wisconsin facility to inspect and document finished components of large industrial equipment. You will read blueprints, measure with micrometers and calipers, and ensure compliance with welding standards.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of weldment inspection, fabrication and machine-building experience, along with strong math and communication skills, and the ability to interact with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting weldments/fabrication in a production or job shop context.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Familiarity with API, AWS, ASME, ABS standards.

Metal Fabrication and Welding Inspection.

Product, OEM structural and industrial assemblies.

Familiar with grades of steel, welding processes and procedures.

Standards of API, AWS, ASME, ABS, EDM and the other duties listed below, that person would be a qualified candidate.

Industrial Vendor and Customer interaction and care.

Knowledge and use of outside micrometers, calipers, height gauges, inside micrometers, and tape measures.

Ability to interpret drawings. Knowledge of all aspects of welding and fabrication inspection

Basic knowledge of machining (Drilling, lathes, horizontal bar). Math and communication skills.
