Job summary

Wakefield Thermal, part of the Heico Companies, is seeking a Quality Engineer to coordinate quality functions across the facility, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions. You will maintain ISO 9001 compliance, manage audits, and interface with customers and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, PPAP/FAI, and data-driven reporting, with oversight of QC activities and supplier quality management in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 2–4 years of experience OR 6–8 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 2–4 years of experience within manufacturing with focus on fabrication (CNC, Assembly, etc).
• Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Experience completing FAI (AS9102) & PPAP (IATF 16949).
• Ability to explain/train blueprint drawing requirements and GD&T.
• Proficiency with inspection methods and equipment (CMM, calipers, optical comparators).
• Working knowledge of ERP systems and MS Office.
• Experience leading root cause investigations (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone).
• Ability to analyze supplier defect/performance data and present trends.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate quality functions across the facility, including inspection of purchased and manufactured parts.
• Pursue root cause of defects and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain and improve the quality management system and conduct internal/external audits.
• Interface with customers and suppliers regarding quality concerns.
• Prepare monthly quality metrics reports and identify trends and risks.
• Support QC inspections and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead supplier nonconformities and corrective actions.
