Job summary

Butler America Aerospace is seeking an Operations Quality Engineer in Orlando, FL, on a 12‑month assignment. The role focuses on developing and reviewing quality standards, procedures, and inspection methods for manufactured and procured products, with responsibilities spanning design of inspection processes, testing, and statistical risk analysis.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree with two+ years of GD&T, SAP, APRISO, and FAI experience, plus documented root cause analysis and presentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of professional experience or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of GD&T experience.
• At least 2 years of SAP experience.
• At least 2 years of APRISO experience.
• At least 2 years of root cause analysis experience (Cause Mapping, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.).
• At least 2 years of presentation experience.
• At least 2 years of conducting FAI to AS9102.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review quality standards, methods, and procedures for inspection and test of products.
• Design and analyze inspection/test processes, mechanisms, and equipment.
• Evaluate test results and perform statistical analysis to assess risk.
• Review documents to ensure quality products are delivered to customers.
• Lead or participate in Failure Review Boards and investigations.
• Participate in Material Review Boards as needed.
• Develop and implement new inspection processes and automation methods.
• Ensure effective corrective/preventive actions to improve processes.
• Conduct process assessments and audits to ensure ISO-9001 / AS9100 compliance.
• Interface with customers and program personnel on quality issues.
• Make final decisions on product acceptability.

Job Description

• Developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions/procedures for the inspection and test of manufactured and procured products
• Designing and analyzing inspection/test processes, mechanisms, and equipment
• Evaluating product tests results, performing statistical analysis to assess risk on products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
• Reviewing documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer.
• Leads and / or participates on Failure Review Boards and other technical investigations.
• Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards.
• Develops and implements new inspection processes and automation methods.
• Ensures effective corrective/preventive action to improve processes.
• Performs special process assessments and audits procedures to ensure compliance to technical specifications, and ISO-9001 / AS9100 Industry standards.
• Interfaces with customers, program personnel on quality related issues.
• Makes the final decision on acceptability of product.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree from in a STEM related discipline with 2 or more years of professional experience, 0 years of experience with Master's degree, or equivalent combined experience/education
• Candidate must have at least 2 years of GD&T Experience
• Candidate must have at least 2 years of SAP Experience
• Candidate must have at least 2 years of APRISO Experience
• Candidate must have at least 2 years of Root Cause Analysis experience (Cause Mapping, 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.)
• Candidate must have at least 2 years of Presentation experience.
• Candidate must have at least 2 years of conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) to AS9102
