Job summary

Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in Oldsmar, FL. You will apply quality principles across design, manufacturing, and supplier quality, conducting evaluations, product testing, and investigations into failures.

Responsibilities include collaboration with cross-functional teams, process improvements, and supplier oversight. Experience with AS9100/ISO9001, APQP, GD&T, and Tableau is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering or related discipline with 5 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and AS9102 first article inspections or APQP.
  • Experience with mechanical/electrical products, manufacturing processes, drawings and GD&T, and military/industry specifications.
  • Experience with Supplier Quality and/or Quality Engineering, including nonconformance dispositions, failure analysis, and root-cause corrective actions using quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing requirements and quality engineering systems.
  • Strong communication skills and collaboration across sites and program teams.

  • Participate in supplier selection and certification programs.
  • Leverage Tableau dashboards and analytics to monitor production metrics and identify trends.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Location: Oldsmar, FL

Pay Range: $ 43-50

Core Responsibilities
  • Apply quality principles in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products.
  • Perform technical evaluations including product requirements, specifications, models/designs, drawings and procedures.
  • Collaborate with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and customers on quality related issues to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action.
  • Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements.
  • Develop strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity.
  • Evaluate quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conduct product quality tests, perform statistical analysis to assess products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Engage in the supplier selection process and certification programs.
  • Leverage Tableau dashboards and predictive analytics to monitor production metrics and identify trends for actionable next steps.
  • Responsible for supplier evaluation, verification of special processes, supplier oversight - including development and execution of return-to-green plans.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering, or related discipline and 5 years of related experience.
  • Knowledgeable in surveillance of AS9100 / ISO9001 Quality Management Systems and experience with AS9102 first article inspections or APQP
  • Technical experience with mechanical and/or electrical products, including manufacturing processes, interpretation of technical drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and military and industry specifications.
  • Experience with Supplier Quality and/or Quality Engineering principles, including nonconformance dispositions, failure analysis, and driving systemic root cause and corrective action utilizing quantitative and qualitative analytical methods.
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing requirements and quality engineering systems.
  • Strong communication skills - adept at collaborating across sites and program teams.
Desired Skills
  • Experience supporting supplier selection, contract reviews, readiness reviews and performing risk analyses.
  • Experience and familiarity with machining and manufacturing practices.
  • Tableau and other data visualization platforms for quality tracking.
  • Certifications like Lean Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving methods or CQE, CSQP or CMQ/OE certification.
  • Experience with commodities such as CCAs, cabling assemblies, and box-level components.
