Job summary

Accelera in Monroe, Ohio is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to drive manufacturing excellence through data-driven insights. You will apply Six Sigma and Lean principles to improve product consistency, reduce waste, and boost customer satisfaction.

You will lead cross‑functional quality initiatives, maintain QMS and SOPs, perform root cause analysis and deliver training. Proficiency with Minitab, MS Office, SAP/MES, and Smartsheet is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in a manufacturing environment with quality improvement project experience.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or in progress) and ability to apply DMAIC.

Responsibilities

• Lead process-improvement initiatives impacting production efficiency and cost.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify sources of variation and implement corrective actions.

About the Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will serve as a key driver of operational excellence by leveraging data-driven insights to refine manufacturing processes. You will utilize advanced methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean principles to enhance product consistency, minimize waste, and elevate overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to identify and execute process improvements that directly impact production efficiency and cost reduction.
• Analyze complex manufacturing data to pinpoint sources of variation and implement corrective actions that stabilize performance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to cultivate a culture of quality, ensuring root cause analysis is integrated into daily operations.
• Facilitate the development and maintenance of robust Quality Management Systems (QMS) and standard operating procedures.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for quality-related inquiries, providing technical solutions that meet stakeholder expectations.
• Oversee the implementation of quality training programs to ensure team alignment with organizational standards.
• Utilize Value Stream Mapping and Process FMEA to drive continuous improvement projects from conception to completion.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing).
• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in quality improvement project management.
• Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt certification required or in progress).
• Expertise in statistical analysis software such as Minitab and advanced MS Office tools.
• Proven ability to develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Preferred Skills

• Experience within plastic extrusion manufacturing processes.
• Black Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems like SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Proficiency in project management software such as Smartsheet.
• Strong public speaking and presentation skills for training and stakeholder reporting.
