Job summary

The Gill Corporation in California seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer to maintain AS9100/ISO9001 quality management systems, lead internal audits, and support corrective actions across design, manufacturing and supplier issues. This role reports to theQuality Assurance Manager and requires strong documentation and communication skills.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, review documents, conduct audits, and train suppliers on SCAR/CAPA processes, FAI documentation to AS9102

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred with aerospace quality experience.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication for technical reports.
  • Familiar with AS9100/ISO standards and audit processes.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and CAPA/SCAR activities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and audit the Quality Management System to AS9100D/ISO9001 standards.
  • Lead internal audits, supplier evaluations, and customer self-surveys.
  • Coordinate corrective actions, root cause analysis, and risk management.
  • Create and review quality metrics, reports, and training materials.
  • Prepare FAI documentation to AS9102 and support on-site customer audits.

The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.The Gill Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer who performs quality activities to ensure that company Quality Management Systems and elements are in compliance with the industry standards, including AS9100/ISO9001, governmental and other regulations, customer requirements, and drive quality improvements where needed.Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, they will perform but not be limited to the following responsibilities.Responsibilities:Maintain the Quality Management System documentationDevelop and implement internal audits in accordance with AS9100D. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.Support the resolution of customer issues. Coordinate with cross functional team to ensure customer complaints and corrective actions are resolved in a timely manner, maintain customer complaint report, conduct customer complaint meetingsReview, update, implement changes and establish standards to controlled documents (GOS, GMS, GPS...)Lead and participate in problem solving activities including root cause analysis, test method validations, and risk management related to design, manufacturing and supplier issues.Primary contact for on-site audits conducted by customers and external providersComplete and submit customer self-surveys/assessments/audits.Perform Contract Review as neededMaintain Approved Supplier List (ASL) through supplier evaluation and ratingsManage the Quality Metrics such as:Non-Conformance Tracking (MRB)Scrap ReportsCustomer ScorecardsCustomer ComplaintsRMAsAssigned quality objectives/KPIsInitiate corrective action requests as needed and track to on-time and satisfactory completion, create reports, and maintain recordsLead quarterly Management Review meetingsPerform periodic audits of Supplier Quality Systems for the purpose of assuring continued Supplier conformance to the quality system requirementsCompile training material and conduct training sessions on various quality activities.Train Suppliers to effectively execute Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) and Corrective Actions Preventive Actions (CAPA)Create quality reportsGenerate and buy off first article inspection (FAI) documentation to AS 9102 standardsOther essential duties may be assigned.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
