Job summary

The Gill Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in El Monte, CA to ensure our Quality Management System aligns with AS9100/ISO9001 standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.

You will maintain QMS documentation, lead internal audits, drive corrective actions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve quality metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in aerospace quality experience.
  • Strong user skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write technical reports and presentations.
  • Familiar with AS9100 and other ISO standards; AS9100 auditor certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to details; highly organized; computer literate.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Quality Management System documentation.
  • Develop and implement internal audits in accordance with AS9100D; ensure compliance with procedures, regulations, and customer specifications.
  • Support the resolution of customer issues; coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve complaints and corrective actions; maintain customer complaint reports.
  • Review, update, implement changes and establish standards to controlled documents (GOS, GMS, GPS...).
  • Lead and participate in problem solving activities including root cause analysis, test method validations, and risk management related to design, manufacturing and supplier issues.
  • Primary contact for on-site audits conducted by customers and external providers.
  • Complete and submit customer self-surveys/assessments/audits.
  • Perform Contract Review as needed.
  • Maintain Approved Supplier List (ASL) through supplier evaluation and ratings.
  • Manage Quality Metrics such as: Non-Conformance Tracking (MRB); Scrap Reports; Customer Scorecards; Customer Complaints; RMAs; Assigned quality objectives/KPIs.
  • Initiate corrective action requests as needed and track to on-time completion; create reports and maintain records.
  • Lead quarterly Management Review meetings.
  • Perform periodic audits of Supplier Quality Systems for conformance to requirements.
  • Compile training material and conduct training sessions on various quality activities.
  • Train Suppliers to execute SCAR and CAPA.
  • Create quality reports.
  • Generate and buy off FAI documentation to AS 9102 standards.
  • Other essential duties may be assigned.

The company also excels in many other types of reinforced plastics including interior sandwich panels for creating structures such as aircraft galleys and bulkheads, honeycomb core and related products.

The Gill Corporation is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer who performs quality activities to ensure that company Quality Management Systems and elements are in compliance with the industry standards, including AS9100/ISO9001, governmental and other regulations, customer requirements, and drive quality improvements where needed.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the Quality Management System documentation
  • Develop and implement internal audits in accordance with AS9100D. Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Support the resolution of customer issues. Coordinate with cross functional team to ensure customer complaints and corrective actions are resolved in a timely manner, maintain customer complaint report, conduct customer complaint meetings

  • Create quality reports
  • Generate and buy off first article inspection (FAI) documentation to AS 9102 standards
  • Other essential duties may be assigned.
