We are seeking a Quality Assurance Clerk to be based in our Pembroke, NC Facility.
The Quality Assurance Clerk is accountable for quality control, maintenance, and compliance with applicable quality systems. This position actively participates in quality guidance, product resolution decisions, and statistical problem-solving techniques. The Quality Assurance Clerk reports to the Quality Supervisor and/or Quality Manager.
Your Day to Day
- Implement and monitor procedures related to quarantine, hold, expired, damages, return goods, and recalled products.
- Ensure accurate and actionable product hold and quarantine processes and records for decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with document and record control procedures.
- Oversee products being reworked, labeled, stored, and distributed to meet requirements and prevent unsaleable conditions prior to shipment.
- Collaborate with process owners to train, mentor, and facilitate QMS requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as the local Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Quality System, providing guidance, training, and ensuring compliance across several quality processes.
- Manage scrap material following all procedures and disposal requirements, including Hazmat waste.
- Share best practices and tools for continual quality improvement within the organization and across regions, fostering lessons learned and proactive improvements.
- Create and maintain documentation according to control procedures, work instructions, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and report findings.
- Assist in creating monthly management reports and detailed analyses as needed.
- Provide feedback and training on damage standards to DC personnel.
- Process sample requests from business units.
- Handle return and rework processing according to procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Quality, Supply Chain, or distribution center operations.
- High School Diploma required.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand FDA, EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in teams to achieve results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a Food Manufacturing environment; bakery experience preferred.
- Flexibility to work various hours and shifts.
